Specific sensing refers to the ideal scenario where a sensor is completely specific to a single analyte, recognising no others. We will develop non-specific bio-diagnostic methods that, while not tied to a single analyte, offer a degree of selectivity. Such approaches could enable rapid screening tests, shifting the focus from identifying specific biomarkers to detecting broader patterns of biological activity
