IDMxS Collaborates with Industry Partners on OcuDot

IDMxS is collaborating with industry partners on the ‘“OcuDot” – Cell-free, In-vitro Eye Irritation Assay’ project, for the creation of a robust in vitro high-throughput (HTP) screening method that can generate reliable data to use artificial intelligence (AI) approaches to analyse the results and accurately provide indications of eye irritancy. This collaboration aims to leverage the capabilities of both parties to understand how key materials in the cosmetic formulations as well as the full formulations interact with the tear film, causing eye irritation. The partners expertise in formulation science, consumer testing, and product efficacy will be instrumental in translating the in-vitro findings into practical, market-ready skin and personal care solutions. Successful completion of the project will lead to identifying materials, combinations, and formulation causing different levels of eye irritation. We expect that enhanced technical knowledge and expertise in understanding in the materials/combinations and their concentration impact on eye irritation will be readily applied to guide future formulation development and optimisation by the partners. In addition, this project will lead to joint research publications in reputable scientific journals, contributing to the boarder academic and scientific community. This collaborative effort will not only address the immediate problem statement but also pave the way for future innovations, contributing to the long-term success and competitiveness all parties.

Acoerela Collaborates with IDMxS
