Single-molecule and single-particle digital analytics

Goal
Motivated by convergent advances across several different fields – including single-molecule science, super-resolution imaging, time-resolved measurements, soft lithography and microfluidics, and data science – this scientific theme seeks to decode information at or near the ultimate limit of detection, namely single units. This approach enables unaveraged measurements from populations of single units, enabling new classes of digital sensing modalities that allow us to determine concentrations, behaviours, and activities of biomolecules quantitatively, sensitively and specifically in complex, heterogeneous, and crowded environments.
