SUMMARY:#IDMxS Seminar #3 - Asst Prof Alexander Ludwig
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to invite everyone for our third seminar in the IDMxS Seminar Series with Asst Prof Alexander Ludwig\, from the School of Biological Sciences & NTU Institute of Structural Biology\, Nanyang Technological University\, Singapore. \nDr Ludwig will speak on ‘The Crumbs complex links epithelial architecture to growth control signaling’. He will present our recent work on the Crumbs polarity complex\, a conserved regulator of epithelial organization and tissue morphogenesis. Using proximity proteomics\, multiscale imaging\, and genome engineering\, they discovered that the Crumbs complex defines a distinct membrane domain apical of tight junctions\, which stabilizes the apical-lateral interface and is essential for cells to establish apical identity in 3D cultures.
